The Slovo Park Community Development Forum and 1:1 - Agency of Engagement's 1:1 - Student League in collaboration with the University of Pretoria and the University of Johannesburg Second's year Architecture students have put together the Slovo Park Project 2013. The students developed their own brief based on six week research process.
The built output was for a brief to design a playground for the children of Slovo Park. - our main constraint was to design with ONE MATERIAL = CONCRETE!!!
A few of the students designs were chosen based mainly on the buildability considering that WE as the INEXPERIENCED LAPTOP-DRIVEN "UNSKILLED LABOURERS" WERE GOING TO BE PHYSICALLY BUILDING IT!!
The selected students then came together to incorporate all three designs.Concept sketches of the designs to follow.
